Ekoliner plastic sheets
Joining polyethylene sheets solidly
Polyethylene is a plastic with ultimate properties to protect traditional materials against moisture and chemicals. However, joining PE plastic sheets to these materials used to be very troublesome. The Ekon solution is the patented product Ekoliner®, a PE lining with a specially designed non-woven fabric backlayer that is integrated in the polyethylene. This innovative product has excellent adhesive potential. If applied before pouring concrete, the resulting joint will be as solid as rock.
Ekoliner® is characterized by the following features:
- easy to apply
- good weldability
- chemical-resistant
- long life
- easy to clean
- high abrasion resistance
- environmentally friendly
Ekoliner® is used to line materials such as concrete, wood and steel, in case of high demands on chemical resistance, fluid permeability or abrasion resistance.
Ekoliner® provides optimal protection for concrete silos and guarantees a long durability.
Prefabricated elements for sewer renovation are made from glass fiber reinforced cement and very durable, flexible Ekoliner®.
A PP-based version of Ekoliner is used as "FJI" sheet (Field Joint Infill) in the offshore market. The plastic sheets are used as sheathing for applying a PU coating on welded pipe-ends. The PU attaches to the non-woven so that the sheet remains permanently connected to the pipe. Thus no environmental problem can arise, because of detachable sheets.
